After our visit to the dealer this weekend, I can now well the wife “Why buy a Pacifica when you can get a MASERATI for the same price??”

These are painfully pretty cars, but all my enthusiast friends who have driven a GT say they are awful to drive. Not very sporty, crappy cabin appointments, fiddly transmission.

Anyone here disagree?

With good reason...

Early ones have engine issues.

All have Ferrari-like maintenance costs (which most owners don’t keep up on, driving the price down)

They aren’t fast (seriously...)

They don’t perform very well (in any aspect)

They lack in creature comforts

They aren’t very fast...

But,

They do look pretty.

They make amazing noises too.

At the least it has the automatic transmission, and not the single-clutch manumatic that would require a new clutch every year.

I know I a guy that had one. He started trying to sell it 6 months after he bought it and finally got rid of it (taking a bath in the process) a little short of 2 years of ownership. Said he’d never buy another Maserati at any price as long as he lived.

I just bought a Pacifica because I didn’t think the six of us would fit in a Charger Scat pack.

My reasoning for getting a Hellcat was “I’ll just make sure I break it a lot, under warranty, and I’ll make MORE MONEY so I can make the payments!”

(I work at an FCA dealer in parts)

She was not amused.

At 34K, you can’t not at least consider this thing.
